The late, great producer J. Dilla proudly carried the torch of A Tribe Called Quest’s musical foundation through his extensive catalogue for artists like Tribe, Erykah Badu, Common, The Pharcyde, De La Soul, Bilal, Slum Village and many more. Witness as Berklee College of Music’s highly acclaimed J. Dilla Ensemble pays tribute to his extraordinary musical legacy.

Harlem Stage’s critically acclaimed dance series enters its 13th season by exploring the future of dance with today’s hottest emerging and evolving choreographers. The series features Sheetal Gandhi, a 1st-generation Indian-American, and Soulemayne Badolo, from Burkina Faso, Africa, two artists representing a direction in contemporary dance that explores the crossing of cultures and continents. Our diverse emerging choreographers include: Franklin Diaz, Marjani Forté, Nikki Hefko, Jenni Hong, Jaamil Olawale Kosoko, Daisuke Omiya, Leslie Parker and Simone Sobers.

For 19 years, Harlem Stage’s Fund for New Work has provided grants for emerging artists of color. Many have gone on to become acclaimed and award winning artists. Help us celebrate one of the most important aspects of our commissioning work at this first annual showcase featuring the work of Marjuan Canady, Maurice Chestnut, Maija Garcia, Eric Lockley, Will Rawls, Harrison David Rivers, Chris Turner, Roberto Villanueva and Amma Whatt. And 100 percent of your ticket price will be awarded to one of our artists for the creation of new work!
