HARLEM STAGE AND URBAN WORD NYC

Once again, Harlem Stage again partners with Urban Word NYC to present Rock the Mic, a two-part installation showcasing the talent of youth poets and spoken word artists. In Part 1, students are introduced to spoken word and performance poetry. In Part 2, students from participating workshops showcase their work alongside the established poets of Urban Word NYC! In addition we are introducing Uptown Open, a monthly open mic series for youth.

Rock the Mic Part 2

Outfitted with a host and DJ this exhilarating production introduces students to the art of performance poetry and spoken word Students will leave inspired to craft their own rhymes with the chance of performing at Harlem Stage on May 19^th for Rock the Mic Part 2.
