YOUTH SPEAK: BREAKING STEREO TYPES & RESHAPING IDENTITY
Harlem Stage partners with the Black Documentary Collective and the Urban Arts Partnership Media Lab to present Youth Speak: Breaking Stereotypes and Re-Shaping Identity. In this 90 minute presentation students will see Ghetto Talks, Ghetto Talks 2: Urban Dictionary and Typecast, three student produced film shorts that address issues of identity and stereotypes through the lens of language and health. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmakers and provide students with an opportunity to (re)shape their identities by making their very own pledge.
*Please contact Simone Eccleston at (212) 281-9240 x27 to find out how to get your students and school involved.
