MARKETING ASSOCIATE

The Marketing Associate provides support and executes initiatives of the marketing plans. Working directly with the Marketing Manager duties include: Community outreach, maintenance of website, creation of e-blasts, gathering of essential marketing materials, implementation of social media efforts and management of directed mail and email databases. The Marketing Assistant is supervised by the Marketing Manager.

 

Marketing duties include:

  • Assisting in planning marketing campaigns and projects
  • Researching target advertising in all media for niche markets
  • Cataloging and management of digital photo and film archives
  • Gathering and filing of press materials
  • Assisting in website editing, FTP uploading & video/photo embedding
  • Maintaining direct mail and electronic mailing lists
  • Executing social media initiatives.
  • Coordinating and assisting with distribution of promotional materials
  • Working performance evenings and weekends as needed
  • Managing and coordinating outreach with community organizations in support of Harlem Stage.
  • Maintaining database of public officials, community, and arts community contacts
  • Drafting informational materials to distribute to community leaders and civic groups
  • Assisting with identifying and cultivating relationships with community leaders and institutions
  • Attending community events/meetings as required
  • Performing other marketing duties as assigned and required

Required Experience and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or at least two years experience in the marketing field; knowledge of the performing arts, ability to work independently and interact with the general public, strong team player, excellent organizational skills and detail oriented; excellent computer skills with emphasis on proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, website content management (HTML & Flash experience a plus); experience/Interest in Internet media and social networking sites; excellent verbal and written communication skills, creative thinking. Knowledge of Spanish is also desirable, but not required.
