In a special collaboration, Harlem Stage and Carnegie Hall co-present Maimouna Youssef a.k.a. Mumu Fresh as part of Carnegie Hall Citywide. Back at the Gatehouse by popular demand, and following a weeklong educational residency with Harlem Stage’s partner schools, Youssef performs with her band, pulling from her rich body of work and latest album, Queen of Culture. Youssef’s lyrical prowess—coupled with her commitment to activism and social justice—has taken her around the globe as a musician, thought leader, and educator. “Mumu Fresh is an artist that any fan of gospel, jazz, soul, and hip-hop needs to know” (NPR). Come ready for an evening of transformation and celebration!

Presented in collaboration with Carnegie Hall.

Lead support for Carnegie Hall Citywide is provided by the Howard Gilman Foundation.

Mumu Fresh’s educational residency, Sacred Sonic Power, is supported in part by grants from The Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation, Inc.and the Davis/Dauray Family Fund.
