Harlem Stage Presents is a living testament to our singular mission: to set the untold stories of world-class artists of color free—visionaries across generations and geographies whose voices have too often been silenced, overlooked, or erased. Each season, through 50 to 60 live performances, we create a sacred space where artists and audiences meet—where truth is told, spirit is stirred, and new possibilities take root through music, spoken word, dance, theater, and film.

From the genre-bending to the soul-bearing, our Uptown Nights Music Festival invites audiences into an immersive soundscape of global expression—featuring boundary-breaking artists like Kimberly Nichole, Ian Isiah, yuniya edi kwon, Flor de Toloache, Dafnis Prieto with Luciana Souza, and Yasser Tejeda. Our E-Moves Festival, having presented over 300 dance artists since its inception 27 years ago, reclaims the language of movement as resistance and ritual, presenting visionary choreographers and dance makers such as Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, Urban Bush Women, Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE, Nora chipaumire, and Camille A. Brown—each one illuminating dance as a beacon of memory, resilience, and transformation. And with Freedom Fest!, we gather to celebrate liberation itself—through theater and film stories that shake the ground and ignite the soul.

Harlem Stage Presents carries the power to move us beyond empathy toward understanding—and toward a future in which no story worth telling remains untold.
