FINAL Every Body Move Workshop at Harlem Stage!

  • Harlem Stage 150 Convent Avenue New York United States (map)

This program is made possible by the New York Department of Cultural Affairs

Harlem Stage and Camille A. Brown & Dancers present the final in the series of four, FREE hourlong, socially distanced, dance workshops for students Grades K–12 led by Ekiuwa Asemota and Maleek Washington.

Participants will learn how we move through space in unique ways with movement practices grounded in the African-American experience. Inspired by the Company's imperative to reclaim cultural narratives of African-American identity, the class will weave through touch points of the Every Body Move trio of curricula – Black Girl Spectrum, Black Men Moving, and Black Liberation Moves. Join us for the final Saturday as we continue to express freedom, joy, and celebration in honor of JUNETEENTH. Participants have the opportunity to build, grow, and arrive at their own, personalized movements of freedom. No dance experience is required but if you’ve had formalized movement training, that’s great too. ALL ARE WELCOME!
