Spark House will provide an education performance that guides student audiences through investigating their legacies. Youth performers will read and respond to contemporary and historic poems, emerging from and influenced by the Harlem Renaissance, that not only pays homage to the past but thoroughly investigate the present. From #BlackLivesMatter to Nipsey Hussle, the themes and narratives addressed in their written works will be bold, heart-felt, and unapologetic.

This performance features youth poets, a live DJ and concludes with a Q+A/talk back with the artists. This is the perfect performance for students cultivating their narrative voices.
